If the bond passes, it will enable Chemeketa to prepare a new trained workforce in order to meet community needs in the areas of nursing, dental hygiene, firefighting, EMTs, electronics, welding and trades.
Chemeketa is training tomorrow’s workforce today. The resources of this bond levy will support important growth areas such as nursing, dental hygiene, pharmacy tech, EMTs, firefighters, industrial tech, and mechanical skills at Chemeketa Community College. Passing the 2008 bond levy will enable the college to meet future community demands and develop a trained workforce.
"Support for this levy is vital because Chemeketa plays a crucial role in training a workforce that employers like me desperately need."
Dick Withnell, President Withnell Dodge

Why is it so important to pass the levy?
This levy enables Chemeketa Community College to provide the community with a trained workforce. New buildings funded by the bond will allow Chemeketa to match current workforce needs with student training programs that include working with cutting-edge technology in environments similar to those in the workplace. The measure also will free general operating funds to be used for improved instruction rather than building renovations and upgrades. If passed, the bond will meet the demands of students, the community and its ever-evolving workforce. View all FAQ's
